Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (i), (ii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the interview conducted by the bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her.
Relaxation in upper age limit (In case of candidates belonging to the following categories)
SC/ST – by 5 years
OBC – by 3 years
Physically Challenged – by 10 years
Ex-Servicemen – by 3 years in addition to the actual period of service rendered in defence services subject to a maximum age of 50 years
Widows, divorced women & women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not remarried: by 9 years subject to maximum age limit of 35 years for general and SC/ST candidates 40 years
Persons domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89 – by 5 years

Minimum Educational Qualification as on 01.01.2009

Must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent with 60% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation available to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PC category or graduate in any discipline from any recognized university. Candidate must have successfully completed a computer course of at least 3 months duration from any institute recognized by central/state govt./AICTE
All education qualifications should be from a recognized board/university institute. The educational qualifications prescribed for the post are the minimum. Candidates must possess these qualifications and must attach proof thereof along with the printout.

Selection Procedure

Merely satisfying the eligibility norms do not entitle a candidate to be called for written test & interview. All the eligible candidates who apply and whose applications are received in time will be considered for selection process, which is through written test & interview.

Written Test

The written test will be Objective and Descriptive type. The question in objective tests except for the test of English will be printed in bilingual, i.e. English and Hindi. The questions in descriptive paper will be printed in bilingual i.e. English and Hindi version. The candidates will have the option to answer the descriptive paper either in English or Hindi or official language of the state/U.T. There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the objective tests.
The written test will be held on 28.06.2009 (Sunday).

How to apply:

Candidates are required to apply On-line through website www.unitedbankofindia.com

No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
Attach following documents to the system generated Online application form and send by ordinary post
(i) Xerox copy of school leaving certificate in support of date of birth
(ii) Xerox copy of the final degree certificate, certificates in respect of passing graduation examination (Provisional Certificate will be accepted only if the candidate has passed the relevant examination during the past one year i.e. 2008 or the university has not yet issued the certificate). (iii) Year wise/semester-wise mark sheets for the graduate and post graduate degree or professional course
(iv) Medical certificates in case of physical challenged candidates
(v) SC/ST caste certificate/OBC certificate with “Non-creamy layer clause” (Not more than one year old)
(vi) DD/Bankers’ cheque
Canidate’s name, date of birth, address, post code & registration/application number should be written on the back of demand draft/bankers’ cheque.
System generated online application form complete in all respect enclosing the above documents and the relevant demand draft/bankers’ cheque should be sent in a closed envelope by ordinary post only superscribing as “application for the post of Probationary Cash cum General Clerk (Post code-11)” so as to reach on or before the last date to the following address
